Getzel tried to roll to get out of the hold but Fodor had it on perfectly and forced Getzel to tap. Nice submission win.

WINNER: Fodor via submission (D'Arce choke) at 4:39 of the first round

POST FIGHT: Fodor was happy about getting the finish tonight. He said the D'Arce is something that's been worked on a lot at his camp.

STAR RATING: (**+) It was slow at the beginning, as they were battling for positional control on the cage, but it was all Fodor once he took Getzel down and it was very entertaining. That was some very impressive stuff from Fodor, who locked the D'Arce on in the guard and passed to finish locking it up. Good stuff.

FIGHT TWO: LIZ CARMOUCHE VS. JAN FINNEY (WOMEN'S 135 LBS.)

ROUND ONE: They traded kicks early. Carmouche landed a good body kick as Finney landed a right. Finney landed a good leg kick. Carmouche landed a straight kick and then a nice kick-punch combo. Carmouche got out and stood up. Finney grabbed her leg and took her down. Finney passed to side control. Carmouche trapped Finney's arm and landed a few short punches, but Finney finished the round on top.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Carmouche. Finney may steal it on some cards with the armbar attempts, but Carmouche out-struck her on the feet in that round and had the big takedown and a couple of slams.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Carmouche. That was all Carmouche in that round, from the throw to the groundwork to the striking at the end.

She tripped Finney again and got to the ground. She passed to the mount and Finney tried to roll to her side. Carmouche postured up and landed some big shots. WINNER: Carmouche via TKO at 1:30 of the third round

POST FIGHT: Carmouche said she threw out the plan against her coach's wishes, and she tried to do her own thing by standing up with Finney. Mauro tried to set up a fight between her and Sarah Kaufman in the pre-fight interview. She sounded interested.

STAR RATING: (**+) That was an entertaining fight. The result just proved that Finney had no business challenging "Cyborg" earlier this year, but that's the state of the women's 145 lb. division at this point.

FIGHT THREE: MARIUS ZAROMSKIS VS. WAACHIM SPIRITWOLF (WELTERWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Zaromskis came out and threw a flying knee, but Spiritwolf got poked in the eye in the exchange and the bout was immediately halted. Zaromskis' hand was up as he threw the knee. After getting time to recover, Spiritwolf could not see and unfortunately the fight was called. Spiritwolf was obviously upset, but he was cut, and it looks like a similar situation to the Randy Couture-Vitor Belfort incident. The lack of consistency on applying the rules for eyepokes is kind of maddening, and it's explained afterward that ANY accidental foul allows for five minutes.

WINNER: No Contest at :06 (laceration to the eye)

POST FIGHT: The "Strikeforce rules director" clarified the accidental foul rule, and said they consulted the video to make sure it was an accidental eyepoke, and the fight ending because of an accidental foul brings about a no contest. Well that was really disappointing.

FIGHT FOUR: OVINCE SAINT PREUX VS. ANTWAIN BRITT (LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT)

ROUND ONE: Saint Preux threw a high kick early and it looked like he poked Britt in the eye with his lead hand. After a short time Britt is able to continue. Britt is really hurt but Saint Preux wasn't landing much. He started going to the body strikes. Saint Preux then grabbed for a rare calf sub attempt but time ran out in the round.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Saint Preux. He hurt Britt there, and did a lot of damage to the body.

ROUND TWO: Britt shot in immediately and got a takedown on the cage. He got right into half guard and landed some hard punches. Saint Preux pulled off a nice switch and got to his feet. Britt put Saint Preux's back on the cage and took him down again into half guard. He landed some short punches. He continued landing strikes from the half guard but made no attempt to pass. Saint Preux continued defending, blocking many of the strikes. Britt continued to stay busy and landed some hard strikes. He got in with some hard hammer fists in succession. Britt landed some more strikes and passed to half guard on the other side. Britt landed a few more punches but Saint Preux survived to the end of the round.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Britt. Saint Preux was severely gassed there and couldn't do much of anything off his back, but Britt didn't attempt to pass out of the half guard at all.

ROUND THREE: Both fighters circled early before Britt shot in. Saint Preux stuffed the first attempt. He landed a good knee to the body and sprawled. He slipped off the sprawl and Britt took his back briefly. Saint Preux hit the switch, however, and he got a double leg takedown himself. He grabbed for a kimura and passed to mount. He tried to posture up but Britt grabbed a hold of him. Britt got the guard back nicely. Saint Preux landed a few punches and tried to posture up to land more strikes. Saint Preux continued to try to stay busy but Britt did a good job of stifling him. Britt needs to do something or he's going to give the fight away in this round. Saint Preux continued to keep busy, at least enough to not be stood up. Britt tried to grab for a kimura but Saint Preux passed to half guard. They were finally stood up with 45 seconds left. Saint Preux landed a big body kick and sprawled on the takedown attempt. Britt was hurt there and Saint Preux got back to half guard and finished the round on top.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Saint Preux. Not a good round, but Saint Preux had all of the offense in a not very active round. That body kick at the end of the round was the most damaging strike of the last two rounds.

WINNER: Saint Preux via unanimous decision

POST FIGHT: Mauro had some mic trouble to do the post-fight interview, but got it working finally. Saint Preux said his strategy was to stick and move throughout the fight. Mauro is trying to push Saint Preux moving up really hard after that fight. Let the man develop, Mauro, that wasn't a great fight.

STAR RATING: (*+) Not a good fight overall. There were some decent spots in the first round, but both guys were so tired after the first that neither did much of anything from there. Britt didn't even attempt a pass from half guard in the second round, and Saint Preux couldn't do much on top in the third himself.

Ribeiro again dropped a level but got shrugged off. Wilcox with another combination. Wilcox threw a high kick that was blocked as the round ended.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Wilcox. He's controlling the striking game and wants nothing to do with Ribeiro's ground game here.

ROUND TWO: Wilcox went right back to working the jab and pressing the pace. Ribeiro tried to shoot and again got stuffed. Wilcox landed a good body kick. Wilcox popped Ribeiro's head back with a right. Ribeiro again shot in but got stuffed. Wilcox landed a body punch. Ribeiro again shot in and was stuffed. Wilcox again landed a combination and stuffed a takedown. Both fighters circled and were a bit tentative. Wilcox tried to reach in with a right but missed the mark. Wilcox rushed in and landed a knee before the round ended.

Penick's Scorecard: 10-9 Wilcox. Ribeiro's got nothing for him in the striking, and he can't take Wilcox down here at all.

ROUND THREE: Wilcox landed a right early. Ribeiro shot in and grabbed the single leg, but Wilcox held it off and landed a right. Ribeiro went to his back but couldn't bait Wilcox into going to the ground. Wilcox evaded the shot attempt from Ribeiro and landed a nice right. Wilcox landed a good left. Ribeiro landed a right. Wilcox continued closing the distance and landed a right. No sense of urgency from Ribeiro here right now. Ribeiro landed a nice right. Wilcox got in with a few punches in combination. He held off another takedown attempt, and then another, landing an uppercut on the way up. Wilcox with another combination. Another straight left lands for Wilcox. Ribeiro landed a flying knee but just barely. Wilcox landed another combination to the body. Wilcox continued moving forward as the round ended.

Penick's Analysis: 10-9 Wilcox. Clean sweep. "Shaolin" couldn't do a thing in that fight.

WINNER: Wilcox via unanimous decision (30-27 x3)

POST FIGHT: Wilcox said they wanted to exploit their standup. He said AKA has the best standup and predicted we'd see it from Josh Koscheck soon. Wilcox called out Lyle Beerbohm.

STAR RATING: (*+) Not much to that fight at all. Ribeiro had nothing for Wilcox in any round, and Wilcox was more than happy to jab his way to a victory and land short combinations while pressing the action. Big win for him, for sure, but there wasn't much to that fight.
