Velasquez Grabs KO Honors, White Speculates On The Finish

Dana White revealed the UFC 121 post-fight bonuses (in the amount of $70,000) for the best knockout, submission and overall fight of the night at the UFC 121 post-fight press conference in Anaheim, California, immediately following Saturday's big pay-per view event.

Adding $70,000 to his fight purse and new golden hardware following his four minutes and 12 seconds in the octagon at the Honda Center on Saturday night for the "Best Knockout Of The Night" is the new combat sports heavyweight Hispanic hero, Cain Velasquez.

Velasquez knocked Brock Lesnar down twice en route to a devastating first-round TKO stoppage, which was speculated to be a verbal submission from Lesnar by UFC president Dana White at the very same press conference.

With the victory, Velasquez improves his flawless professional record to 9-0, with all victories by KO or TKO, aside from the Cheick Kongo fight in June of 2009.

Sanchez, Thiago Snag "Fight Of The Night"; Diego Is A Crazy Person

Diego Sanchez picked up his first win since the Clay Guida victory -- also in June of 2009 -- by besting a legitimate welterweight contender in Paulo Thiago with a 30-26, 29-28, 29-28 unanimous decision.

The fight earned Sanchez his third "Fight Of The Night" honor, which he shared with his UFC 121 opponent Thiago. Both men earned an additional $70,000 for their performance.

The victory for Sanchez, which was his first fight back in the 170-pound weight class, improves his record to 22-4.

Oh yeah, wasn't that running, roaring rag-doll slam by Sanchez an instant classic? He should get another bonus for that alone. Underground MMA highlight video-makers are going to have a field day with that one.

Roberts Closes PPV Show With "Submission Of The Night"

In the fourth preliminary bout of the evening, Daniel "Ninja" Roberts earned a healthy $70,000 check for "Submission Of The Night" for his first-round anaconda choke submission victory over Michael Guymon.

The fight, which aired as the last bout shown on the pay-per view broadcast, was also the quickest of the night, lasting only one minute and 13 seconds.

With the win, Roberts improves his professional MMA campaign to an impressive 11-1.
